ABOUT THE HAGUE
The Hague (Dutch: Den Haag, short for: 's-Gravenhage) is the international city of peace and justice, the third largest city in the Netherlands, and the only large Dutch city by the sea.
The city has a deserving reputation of prestige, stature, and influence. It is a place where important matters are discussed, where decisions are made, and where alliances are forged. The work of numerous international organisations, courts, and tribunals – such as the International Court of Justice – put The Hague in the global spotlight. It is also home to the Dutch Parliament, and Royal Family.

Catering: Amare's standard catering programme is plant-based, organic, and locally sourced.
Amare is home to the Residentie Orkest, Nederlands Dans Theater and Royal Conservatoire. It is a place for all generations, for the city and the whole world. The venue is located is Spuiplein, the cultural centre of The Hague.
Sustainability: The construction site ran on wind energy and produced no CO2 emissions during the building phase. Ninety percent of construction waste was sorted for proper disposal. The building is heated and cooled by geothermal energy. rainwater is used to flush the toilets, and the green rooftop hosts many birds’ nests and bat boxes. The venue holds Green Key certification for its day-to-day operations.
HOW TO GET THERE
By train from Schiphol Airport
Direct trains from Schiphol to Den Haag Centraal run every ten minutes throughout the day, and take thirty minutes. From Den Haag Centraal, Amare is a ten-minute walk or a four-minute tram ride.
By train from Rotterdam-The Hague Airport
Take bus 33 to Meijersplein metro station. From there, Metro E runs directly to Den Haag Centraal. Total journey time is around forty minutes.
By international train
Eurostar runs direct services from London, Brussels and Paris into Rotterdam Centraal, with a fifteen-minute connection to The Hague. Direct ICE services connect Frankfurt and Cologne.
GETTING AROUND
For travel within The Hague, the city is built for walking, cycling and tram.
On foot: The Hague is a compact city. Amare to the historic centre is five minutes. Amare to the seafront at Scheveningen is forty minutes on foot (or fifteen minutes by tram).
By tram: Tram 16 stops directly outside Amare. Most hotels we recommend are on the tram network. The seafront at Scheveningen is fifteen minutes away by tram (or forty minutes on foot).
By bike: Bike rental is available throughout the city. The Hague's cycling infrastructure is designed for everyone, not just the confident.
If you rent a bike, always use two locks. Bicycle theft is The Hague's one reliably high-volume crime.

VISA INFORMATION
Depending on your nationality, you may require a Schengen visa to enter the Netherlands. We recommend checking the official entry requirements through the Dutch Government or your local embassy.

Processing time: Visa applications can take several weeks, so please submit your request early to avoid travel disruptions.
DISCOVER THE HAGUE
The Binnenhof & Peace Palace
Visit the Binnenhof, the oldest functioning parliament building in the world and the centre of Dutch politics. Afterwards, take time to visit the Peace Palace (Vredespaleis)., the global symbol of international law and justice, which is just as famous for its stunning architecture and gardens.

The Mauritshuis Museum
Home to some of the world's most famous Dutch Golden Age masterpieces,
the Mauritshuis is a must-visit. Located right in the heart of the city, this 17th-century palace hosts iconic works including Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring and Rembrandt’s The Anatomy Lesson.

Scheveningen Beach
Head down to Scheveningen, The Hague’s famous seaside resort. Walk along the pier, view the coast from the giant Ferris wheel, or relax at one of the many beachfront restaurants and cafes.
